Fire Safety

The importance of fire safety in the workplace is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.

How long is a fire safety course?

A minimum of 6 contact hours in the classroom.

What topics are covered in a Fire Safety course?

A range of subjects is covered including:

  • The hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace

  • How fire risk is controlled in the workplace

  • The role of the nominated fire warden/marshal

  • The principles and practice of fire safety management at work

Is there an assessment?

Assessment is on-going from the instructor with a multiple choice test paper at the end of the session.

What qualification will I receive?

A fully F.A.A accredited level 2 certificate will be issued. This qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.

How many students can attend each course?

A maximum of 16 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age.

A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer's responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.
